Introduction

It is not clear that the above image (source: Banderas, #38, 1991) is the current flag. It shows the municipal arms, as shown in the municipal website (image here) on a white field, with the Catalan flag placed vertically along the hoist. By the way, I believe that Catalan regulations on local flags do not allow for coats-of-arms (in the sense of the escutcheon with/without crown) being displayed on flags.

Source: Banderas, #4, 1981. I find it weird that the nicest flag of L'Hospitalet (in my humble opinion) is the oldest one, while the two most recent follow the typical arms-on-flag model.
