The club was established as "Hamburger Segel-Verein von 1910" (1910 - 1911). As there already existed a club with basically the same name the club was renamed to "Hansa Segel-Verein von 1910" in 1911 and in the same year again to "Segel - Verein "Hansa"von 1910" (1911 - 1920). In 1920 together with a change of its base the club was again renamed to "Segel-Verein Norderelbe" (1920 - 1930). In 1930 the club merged with "Segler-Vereinigung Unterelbe" and the new club was renamed again to "Segelclub Norderelbe von 1910 e.V." (since 1930) and kept its name since then.

The 1st pennant was replaced due to similarities with the houseflag Deutsch-Austral-Line, a Hamburg based shipping company. The 2nd pennant was replaced due to the change of the base. The 3rd pennant was replaced by that one of former Segler-Vereinigung "Unterelbe".
