Lautrach Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a bend sinister wavy, above right Gules a sinister facing stag's head Or, beneath left Azure a bendlet sinister wavy Argent.
Meaning:
The Lords of Lautrach, first mentioned in 1239, had been commissionaires of the Welfen kin and the Staufen kin as well. The ownership of the Lordship of Lautrach changed frequently until 1417, when it was acquired by the Lords of Landau. The stag is alluding to both families. The arms of the Lautrach kin displayed a red head in a silver shield, those of the Landau kin two black attires in a golden shield. The tinctures red and blue had been those of the Princeley Abbey of Kempten, which acquired the lordship in 1645. The village belonged to the abbey until 1802. The bend wavy is representing the Iller River, the bendlet the Ach, the name giving creek of the village. The bendlet is canting, as the name of the municipality means "settlement upon the clear Ach" (German: lautere Ach).
