Shield Vert, a stag salient Argent armed Or.
Meaning:
The village developed in the 13th century as a settlement for burgers of the nearby Hohenburg Castle. Later it became an important place for timber rafting on the Isar River. Lenggries was not allowed to use proper seals untul 1848. The arms are based on the seals of two district judges working around 1700: Johann Stefan Zöpfl and Andres Franz Kistner. The stag is symbolising riches of forest and deer and the importance of hunting and timber industry.
