Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. Above is a half, golden(=yellow), rampant lion, armed and tongued red in a blue field scattered with golden(=yellow) shingles. Below the field is chequered ten times into silver(=white) and black.
Meaning:
According to source the lion indicates, that the municpality had been part of the principality of Nassau-Siegen. The chequered board is taken from the arms of local family of Kolbe von Wilnsdorf, which played a role in 13th century and died out in 1626.
