Shield Azure two mattocks Argent in saltire.
Meaning:
The village was first mentioned in the 13th century and gained the status of a market town in 1953. The arms display the family arms of the Schirlinger kin without crest. They are known by seals of Heinrich Schirlinger (1308) and Wernhard Schirlinger (1350). The tinctures had been chosen due to the Petra Sancta code as given in Monumenta Boica vol. XV. They are also alluding to the Bavarian tinctures. The mattocks are also stressing the rural character of the town in the core area of Niederbayern.
