Meaning:
Sasbachwalden had been prtt of a court district of Sasbach of the Archbishopric of Straßburg until 1803. Proper seals existed after 1818, when Sasbachwalden had become an independent municipality. The first seal displayed only the initials "SW" under a ducal coronet. On behalf of the municipality later seals displayed a ruined local castle. The current arms are representing riches of forests and viticulture.
