Sasbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure a crozier Or issuant from base, at sinister Or a bend Gules.
Meaning:
Sasbach belonged to the Archbishopric of Straßburg and was acquired by Baden in 1803. A seal was mentioned in 1436 and a print exists from 1458. They display more or less the current pattern, but the crozier, representing the archbishopric, was pointing to the other side. The pattern was continued after 1803. In 1901 tinctures were fixed, based on an error that the bend had been the red one of Baden, but it was in fact the silver bend of the archbishopric in a red field.
