Niedertaufkirchen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Or a lion issuant Sable armed and tongued Gules, beneath Gules on a fess Argent a sword Sable
Meaning: Lion and the white fess in a red field are taken from the arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, to which the village belonged until 1802. The archbishops also appointed the reeves in the nearby Mühldorf. For the village of Haunertsholzen the existence of a parish church under patronage of Salzburg is known since 788. The sword is an attribute of St. Martin, patron saint of the parish church of Niedertaufkirchen.
