Meaning:
Coronet and fleur-de-lis are attributes of St. Mary, patron saint of the local pilgrimage church, built in 1474. The sinister half is symbolising the location in the Odenwald, a forest. The tinctures red and silver are those of the Archbishopric of Mainz, local ruler between 1272 and 1803, and was given as a fiefdom to the Benedictine Amorbach Monastery.
