Description of coat of arms:
In a blue field is a silver(=white) trout. The chief is golden(=yellow) divided by a red saltire. It is separated from the blue field by a wavy line.
Meaning:
According to source the saltire is a modification taken from the arms of dissolved municipality of Varenholz, which was originally taken from the arms of the lords of Varenholz, who had an important castle, which played a role in the North of Lippe in 12th and 13th century. The castle was sold to the barons of Lippe later. The trout is taken from the arms of former municipality of Hohenhausen, which had been approved on 18 May 1956, and it is symbolizing the breeding of trout within its boundaries.
