Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield above is a golden imperial globe. Beneath the globe is a heap of six silver (= white) bricks ordered 1:2:3.
Meaning:
The rural municipality became a possession of Württemberg in 1553 and had seals since 1558, displaying a heap of stones - being a canting element - crowned by a plant. The village was upgraded to a market town in 1609. The imperial globe as a distinguishing mark was added later and first mentioned in 1686. Steinheim in 1706 anticipated successfully a restriction of its rights of having a seal. In 1955 Steinheim gained city rights.
