Shield parted per fess off-centred, above Azure a bearded saint issuant Proper, dresses Or, pointing with his left hand to a disc Or, charged with a Paschal Lamb; beneath Or the lower half of a facetted 8-point star Sable.
Meaning:
Fürstenberg is first mentioned as a city in 1254. The oldest seal from the 13th century displayed the Abbott of Corvey, as the local ruler. When the city was ceded to the Counts of Waldeck in the 15th century, in the seals the half star of Waldeck was added. The figure issuant from star was interpreted as the patron saint of Corvey, St. Justinus with the flame of the Holy Spirit. Since the 19th century the saint was replaced by the local patron saint St. John the Baptist and the Paschal Lamb as his attribute.
