Rentweinsdorf Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, above a pair of scales Argent, beneath an inescutcheon Argent charged with a bend wavy Gules and a 5-point star of the same on sinister chief.
Meaning:
The inescutcheon is taken from the arms of the Rotenham kin, who lived in the village since 1248. They gained fiefdom and cognisance over the village in 1497, granted by Lorenz of Bibra, being Bishop of Würzburg from 1495 until 1519. The family built a new castle including estate buildings and an administration building during the 18th century. The scales are symbolising market and court of justice. The tinctures red and white are those of the Bishopric of Würzburg.
