Neuenkirchen Coat of Arms

The silver (= white) field is divided by a black centred cross, which is in the centre superimposed by a golden (= yellow) plough share. In the blue chief are three golden (=yellow) squirrels, holding nuts between their paws, ordered horizontally.
Meaning:
The cross is alluding to the municipality's name, the plough share is symbolising agriculture. The squirrels are taken from the arms of the Wampen family, members of the local gentry of Greifswald. The family had had great influence in the region.

The flag was approved on 19 November 2009 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.171, the coat of arms already on 15 October 1998.
