Shield is parted per fess, above Gules two scythes Argent in saltire, on chief a heraldic rose Argent barbed Vert and seeded Or; below Argent a lion passant, double queued, armed and tongued Azure.
Meaning:
According to Ralf Hartemink the upper half shows a combination of the seals of both churches. The scythes, used for rooting out, are taken from the Catholics, the rose, being that one of the Counts of Möllembiek, from the Protestants. The lion is symbolising the Counts and Dukes of Berg, the former rulers.
