Shield Or a fleur-de-lis Azure, surrounded by a chain of the same, issuant from base a triplemount Vert.
Meaning:
The arms are based on those of the Benedictine Nieralteich Monastery with an additional fleur-de-lis and an additional chain. The former is an attribute of Our Lady of Assumption, patron saint of the parish church of the municipality, the latter of St. Leonard, patron of the namesake nearby church. The name is referring to a hermitage (Latin: cella). The monastery embossed the village since its very beginning until 1803, when the monastery was secularised. It had been the most important manorial lord and the parish of the village was incorporated into the monastery.
