Wittichenau Coat of Arms

Shield Or, standing on a crescent recumbent Argent plugged by two triplets of roses of the same at either end Virgin Mary nimbed Argent and dressed Azure, holding baby Jesus Christ naked by her sinister arm and a sceptre Argent in bend topped by a fleur-de-lis of the same by her dexter hand.
Meaning:
Wittichenau, based on the Sorbian village of Kulow, was ruled by the Lords of Kamenz until 1248, afterwards until 1834 by the Cistercian Sankt Marienstern Nunnery, which means "star of St. Mary" in nowadays Panschwitz-Kuckau. Wittichenau was upgraded to a city in 1303. The arms display St. Mary, patron saint of the nunnery, to which the city belonged for centuries. The arms are based on a local seal from the 17th century.
