Description

During the 1972 municipal reform, most of Neuburg an der Donau county (in Schwaben district) —including the town of Neuburg— was merged with Schrobenhausen county (in Oberbayern district). The new county was called Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and is part of Oberbayern.

Black-yellow stripes, adopted 12.06.1974. Sources: Linder and Schmidt 2000, arms image from Stadler 1964-1972. The capital of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen county is Neuburg/Donau.

From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website:

The arms were granted on June 12, 1974. The arms combine the symbols of the old arms of Neuburg, with the bear's head taken from the arms of the city (not the county) of Schrobenhausen.

Literature: Linder and Olzog 1996.
