Shield parted by a pale Argent charged with two grapevines Azure with leaves Vert; at dexter Sable a sinister facing lion rampant Or, armed and tongued Gules; at sinister Azure an eagle Argent, armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The lion is the lion of the Pfalz, as the largest part of the county historically belonged to the Pfalz. The eagle is derived from the arms of the Counts of Leiningen, who ruled the northern part of the county for many centuries. The pale with the grapes symbolises the so-called Weinstraße (road of wine) and the importance of viticulture in the area.
