Shield quartered of Argent and Sable, over all a swan passant Argent armed Gules.
Meaning:
On 19 November 1599 Margrave Georg Friedrich of Brandenburg-Ansbach granted the arms to the local court of Schwaningen. The usage of seals with arms was forbidden in Bayern in 1818, but the arms were confirmed for the municipality by King Maximilian II of Bayern in 1860. The quartered shield displays the arms of the Zollern kin. The swan is a canting element.
