Shield Gules, in chief a scallop Argent, in centre an attire Or, in base a demi-wheel Argent.
Meaning:
After the Counts of Rieneck had died out in 1559, the village was acquired by the Archbishopric of Mainz. The demi-wheel is a differentiation of the arms of the archbishopric. The attire is alluding to the hunting lodge built by the archbishops. The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, the local patron saint. The tinctures had been those of the counts (red and golden) and of the archbishops (red and silver).
