Here is a drawing of the flag of Guanabacoa (the off-centering is
intentional). The flag was first hoisted on 5 June 1996, bearing the coat of
arms granted shortly after gaining Villa status in 1723. From the bottom to the
top, the inner section of the coat of arms depicts mountains, two towers, the
sea, and clouds. The municipal boundaries touched the sea prior to 1976. The
text reads "Escudo de Armas de la Real Villa de la Asunción de Guanabacoa por el
Rey Felipe V"
