Overview

From www.pitalito.com.co (translated):

FLAG OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF PITALITO
Through agreement No 017 of 12 June 1987, in articles 1 and 2 the Flag of the municipality of Pitalito is adopted with the following characteristics: Consisting of three vertical colors; GREEN, WHITE, BLUE.
AUTHORS: JUDITH CARVAJAL CARVAJAL, SAUL CARVAJAL CARVAJAL.

Jairo Alonso Méndez Méndez, 7 February 2003

Also, according to <pitalito-huila.gov.co> (translated):

The Flag is composed of three colors placed in vertical form (Green, White, and Blue), which signify:
THE GREEN COLOR: Occupies 50% of the total area of the Flag, expressing fertility and greatness of the Laboyos Valley and the hope predominant in the Laboyan mentality on track to a better future and inherited from the tribes that inhabited this region. In this color our indigenous ancestor is imbued representing an evolutionary process unchaining in the sport and culture of our people.
THE WHITE COLOR: It is the central color and corresponds to 25% of the Flag, representing the idea that the founders of Pitalito had in building over a zone of purity and peace, which today is seen complemented by knowledge, sympathy, and hospitality that imparts the Laboyan town through all visitors.
THE BLUE COLOR: Symbolizes the peaceful waters of the Rivers, Ravines, and Lagoons, which are faithful witnesses in the birth and development of the Laboyano town, covering the ending 25%.

Different flag at www.huila.com. However, this website might not be the best reference.
Carlos Thompson, 21 December 2004

In the site www.pitalitohuila.com appears the flag as posted by me: a vertical tri-band, green, white and blue and the Coat of Arms.  It confirms the overview that appears in the defunct site www.pitalito.com.co.
Jairo Alonso Méndez Méndez, 23 December 2004

The colors are established by Municipal Agreement 017 of June 12, 1987: green corresponds to # 008522, infant blue is # 6699ff and white is #ffffff

For the Shield, it is established through Municipal Agreement 002 of August 1988. The colors are the same as those of the flag.
Jose Collazos Molina, 10 June 2021

Specification on the color shades is not found in the official sources. Photos provide evidence that the flag has a "regular" blue shade; accordingly, there is no reason to replace the image.

Coat of Arms

The original location ( http://pitalito-huila.gov.co/nuestromunicipio.shtml?apc=m-I1--&m=f&s=m ) of the symbols of this Municipality as provided by Jairo Alonso Méndez Méndez (2004 and 2007) has been relocated to this new URL: https://www.pitalito-huila.gov.co/municipio/nuestro-municipio

In the above mentioned link, one can still find the same description for the flag that we currently have and in addition, we find a detailed description of the coat of arms (Shield), as follows:

"GEOGRAPHICAL ASPECT: The shape and bottom of the Shield represents the valley where the Municipality is located; the blue stripe represents the Rivers Magdalena, Guachicos, Guarapas and the Guaitipá (sic) (the correct name is Guaitipán or as Gaitana, and it was a former indigenous leader) Lagoon.

ECONOMIC ASPECT: It is represented by the silhouette of a horseshoe in honor of the Handicraft and Horse Fair that takes place in the month of November; the Guava represents the agricultural part abundantly harvested even without cultivating it.

CULTURAL ASPECT: Represented by the yellow silhouette of a clay pot, representing the Laboyana pottery (Laboyano/Laboyana is the Demonym, since the location of the Municipality is in the known as Valle de Laboyos, a tributary river of the much bigger Magdalena river) nationally and internationally with the famous (she)goat (a rudimentary mean of transportation, which is an open bus), the industrialization of ceramics is represented by the lathe, a fundamental tool where the founding date (1818) and the name of our town (are located).

HISTORICAL ASPECT: Represented at the base of the lathe, where Saint Anthony is located and the date of foundation, it symbolizes the birth of Pitalito. The previous symbols are supported by a white silhouette of two hands that represents the friendship and industriousness of all the Laboyanos."

The coat of arms (Shield) that José Collazos mentions, is located here in the same link mentioned above, here: https://www.pitalito-huila.gov.co/municipio/nuestro-municipio
