One of the posters promoting the 1950 soccer World Cup includes flags:
(see 1950 World Cup at Wikipedia). The artwork
shows a close-up view of a ball kicking foot with regulation shoes and a
knee-high sock showing national flags in a patchwork pattern, three rows
on the rolled-down top and five more rows down to the ankle.
Many of these flags are noteworthy, and especially Chile and Colombia,
at the right side of the 3rd row from the top – as both show their red
areas replaced with black, for no apparent reason: Other flags with red
and black areas are shown correctly on this poster, and these two flags
should be well known to the designers and other envolved people, as the
event was held in Brazil, a (sort of) neighbouring country.
