On a purple field is placed what seems the university seal, in white.
When compared to the national flag hoisted alongside, it appears that a
horizontally hoisted university flag may well exist and that the seal would then
be placed in the upper hoist.

It's seal script - one of the older forms of Chinese writing (and a
very beautiful style, too - sort of the Chinese equivalent of
copperplate...though really that should be the other way round, given
that the Chinese got there first.

The page Jan found [http://www.jxufe.edu.cn/info07/gong703.htm] is dead and
archive.org could not store their images. The logo reads "江西财经大学" (Jiāngxī Cáijīng
Dàxué, meaning Jiāngxī Economics University) arched
along the bottom of its rim; I could not make the seal script central
inscription, though. A motto, maybe?
