On 1 January 2017 the 11 districts of the Grisons canton were abolished and made room for the 11 new regions.
Likewise the subdivisions of the districts, the circles, were abolished and not replaced.
The circles had all their own flags, which are preserved here pro memoria.
Per fess chequy of six Azure and Argent and Gules a Castle with three towers of the second.

This coat of arms reminds of the two most important churches of the former jurisdiction (Gericht) of
Belfort: S. Mauritius in Alvaneu (cross) and S. Maria (mullet). The colours of the coat of arms are
coming from the coat of arms of Vaz, azure and or from the one of the League of the Ten Jurisdictions
(Zehngerichtebund). Colours of the circle (Kreis): blue-white-red.

Kreis Surses is the new name of Kreis Oberhalbstein. In the Graubünden armorial, the arms are still named under their old name.

The banner of arms comes from a seal of the second half of the 17th c. Colours of the
circolo: red-white. As the circolo is divided in one commune, Brusio, the flag is also the
one of the commune.

This was the very old coat
of arms of the former League of the Ten Juridictions (Zehngerichtebund). Colours of the Kreis: blue-yellow.
As the Kreis is divided in one commune, Davos, the flag is also the one of the commune.

the patron of the church of Rueun and appears also in the coat of arms of the cloister of
