claws the Gospel of Mark a chief azure three fleurs-de-lis or. The shield
supported by two maple branches vert crossed in base in saltire and tied by a
ribbon gules holding a scroll or inscribed with the motto "Sagesse que de

The fleurs-de-lis recall the
French Canadian ancestors and the origin of most of the population of
Saint-Marc-des-Carrières.
The lion is a symbol of courage and magnanimity.
The golden book represents the Gospel of Mark.
The maple branches are the
symbol of Canada.
The motto reads "Governing without Violence is Wisdom".
