The flag features the green, blue, golden (yellow), red and white colors.
Green represents forest resources ("riqueza").
Blue represents water and the
sky.
The flag is diagonally crossed along the diagonal running from the lower
left to the upper right canton, representing Riqueza's growth and evolution.
Golden (yellow) symbolizes resources ["riqueza"], while red symbolizes the force
and courage of the immigrants who developed the place.
White is a symbol of
peace and harmony that formed the municipality and guided up to now.

The shield's supporters, maize and beans, the main crops in the
region, highlight Riqueza as a mostly rural municipality.
In base, the sun
enlightens with its golden rays the resources of the municipality, also
symbolizing dawn, life, birth and rebirth.
Or symbolizes wealth ["riqueza"].
When the early colonists developed the area, they were dazzled by the resources
in trees and called the place Riqueza. So, in base, the tree and the sun allude
to the municipality's historical origin.
From the tree, the soil and the sun,
emerge the other resources of the municipality (commerce, education, fruit
cultivation, crops, agriculture and cattle-breeding), which are the
municipality's life and material, social and cultural resources.
