I reached out to the South Australia State Emergency Service (SA SES) and
they sent me this picture of their flag.
Like their counterparts in other
states, the SA SES is a volunteer based but government financed and managed
organisation which responds to natural and man-made emergencies.
Members are
trained to respond to floods, storms, heatwaves, road crashes & marine / swift
water / vertical / confined space rescues. They will also, upon request, assist
local councils as well as other state agencies for traffic control, missing
person searches or any other general duties.
To the hoist side is the orange
/ white battenburg marking pattern used by all Australian SES and to the fly
side is the SA SES emblem which includes the SA state badge of a magpie with
wings extended.
