"Given the need to have a symbol that represents them, a public competition of ideas was called for the creation of the communal flag. [...] 27 works from inhabitants took part in the contest. A pre-selection of 4 sketches from among the 27, chosen by a jury composed of a member of each of the public institutions of the communal ejido. After the appropriate evaluations, the jury selected through voting, the 4 works that went to the final selection. The members of the communal council determined the winning sketch through the voting system."

"The symbolism of the flag of the Tala commune: The Sun in its rising represents at each dawn, the hope of a new opportunity in life. The Ceibo is the National flower and its red flower symbolizes federalism, and the Cardinal, "King" of our area who we find permanently in the 5 colonies.
COLORS:
YELLOW symbolizes Energy, Power, Abundance, Strength, Action and Happiness.
ORANGE symbolizes Independence, Confidence, Constructive Energy, Creativity.
GREEN symbolizes: Nature, Fertility, Prosperity, Generosity, Hope, Health and Calm."
